Forefront Friday – March Madness
Do you know this economic event generates more than $1,000,000,000 of economic activity? It ranges from TV ad sales, chicken wings, ticket sales, online gambling. As much as we all know, there’s a lot of madness going on in the world today. The impact of the economic sanctions on Russia are unknown but we’re starting to feel that here at home, whether that’s at the gas station or the grocery store.
Wall Street Journal this week reported that inflation was at a four decade high of 7.9%. Unprecedented. We’re going to be impacted for quite a while. And I don’t think it’s going away. You don’t have to be a basketball fan to enjoy the tournament but one thing I think we can all agree on is that the tournament gives us a little diversion and we can all use one right now.
So I urge you, pick a team, grab your friends, go to your favorite bar and follow along. And remember, please keep things in perspective.
