Brad Coulter, managing director of O’Keefe, which has an office in Bloomfield Hills, has been appointed by Gov. Rick Snyder to serve as the emergency financial manager for the city of Lincoln Park. The appointment marks the first appointment by the state of Michigan of a turnaround professional to lead a municipal turnaround.
Coulter has worked extensively in the turnaround industry for more than 25 years, successfully transitioning troubled companies in a multitude of industries in Michigan and across the country. His efforts with O’Keefe were recognized earlier this year with an M&A Advisor’s award for leading the non-for-profit turnaround of the year for Youthville of Detroit.
Coulter has also served in leadership positions on the International Board of the Turnaround Management Association and is a past president of its Detroit chapter. He holds a Master of Business Administration in finance from Indiana University and a bachelor of arts in economics from Albion College.
